We have an exciting job opportunity for a Northern beef industry candidate looking to transition the skills they have from working in the region, to assist DIT AgTech with the adoption of its water dosing technology that allows producers to increase the productivity of their herds.


The most important trait we are looking for, is a purpose driven individual who is driven to initiate change in our industry, to help Beef producers produce more kilos of beef from less livestock across the landscape.


The role would require you to manage and lead a team of people in the North where teamwork and collaboration is the key to success. The mentality of "rolling up your sleeves" and being accountable for the operations of the region would be expected.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the roll out and adoption of DIT AgTech’s water supplementing and remote monitoring technology across Northern Australia from the West Kimberly to the Gulf.

  • You will manage a team of technicians, supplement delivery personnel and territory managers based across the region.

  • You will manage:

  1. the installation of the technology onto Northern beef stations,

  2. scheduling and managing logistics of supplement delivery

  3. the maintenance of existing customer accounts and the development of new business.

  • You will work in conjunction with all other DIT Teams to ensure good communication and synergy across the business.

  • You will report directly to the CEO to execute the strategy in rolling out the companies AgTech innovation across Australia.

The Package:

  • The job can be based in either Katherine or Mt Isa and you will be expected to travel regularly.

  • A salary package of up to $200,000 can be negotiated with the right applicant that would include a fully maintained company vehicle, rental subsidy and bonuses in line with KPIs.

  • If you have a pilot’s licence this could be handy for extensive travel as the company has access to aircraft.

  • The role will involve a month of intensive training both in our Townsville production factory (to learn about the tech and supplements) as well as in the field training with our CEO to meet key customers.

  • The company will also be supportive for the successful candidate to undertake additional training and personal development when required.


Skills and Experience:

  • Min 5 years previous experience in the Northern Beef industry where you have developed a deep understanding of livestock production in the region, ie been a manager or assistant manager of a cattle station or related agribusinesses such as helicopter mustering.

  • Have worked and lead teams in Northern Australia and understand the challenges of distance, safety and remoteness, as well as the culture of the communities in Northern Australia.

  • Have an intimate knowledge of the Northern beef industry and strong industry connections and networks built up during your working career in the North.

  • Have a strong understanding of ruminant nutrition and a keen interest in technology.

  • Excellent computer and communication skills, especially spreadsheeting and writing detailed reports is essential.

  • University education will be looked on favourably but not essential.

  • A strong commitment to learning and study with examples of past self-education would be very desirable.

  • Fixed wing pilots’ licence is desirable but not essential.
