Corfield Downs Pastoral is currently seeking a driven and energetic Station Hand/All Rounder to join the 2022 Season. Corfield Downs is a 60,000ha beef cattle property located in Central Western QLD 100km north of Winton.

 

Cattle are grazed on an abundance of natural pastures with Mitchel grass and flinders grass being the more prominent species. We currently farm 2,800ha of forage sorghum for grazing and have plans to expand this to 4,000ha over the current year. Corfield Downs is an industry leading agribusiness where modern technologies and management practices are adopted.

Major infrastructure improvements have been made with fencing, stock water and Thompson Longhorn yards over the past few years.

Job Description (Station Hand):​ This role would suit someone who is a team player, enthusiastic and willing to learn.

 

Responsibilities:

• Always demonstrate commitment to safe working practises and animal welfare.

• Mustering on motorbikes and side by side buggies

• Yard work.

• Water runs, trough cleaning, repairing leaking pipes and pumps

• General property maintenance - basic mechanics, fencing

• Operating machinery – skid steer, tractor

• Adhere to the guidance of the station management staff.

 

Essential Criteria:

• Strong focus on safety and animal welfare.

• Manual driver’s license.

• Able to ride a bike.

• Motivated and hard-working.

• Willingness to be part of a small versatile team.

• Pass a National Police Clearance and pre-employment medical assessment.

• Possess sufficient fitness level to carry out required tasks.
