The Tipperary Group of Stations (TGS), including Tipperary, Litchfield and Douglas West is a large iconic pastoral property in the Northern Territory, are currently seeking a Station Operations Manager to oversee the business and lead their teams across the stations.

Tipperary Station is located approximately 2 hours south of Darwin and about 36 kilometres east of the Daly River in the Northern Territory.

Job Description: Reporting to the TGS General Manager, the Station Operations Manager duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing TGS operations including its employees, livestock and infrastructure comprising over 4,000 square km and 42,000 head of cattle.

  • Coordinating day to day schedules/ mustering program for the 2 stock camps comprising approximately 15 people - mustering is done on horseback, quad bikes, side by side vehicles and 2 wheel motorbikes as well as being supported by rotary wing aircraft.

  • Managing stock as well as overseeing livestock husbandry programs as well as being committed to improving animal welfare at all times.

  • Overseeing teams monitoring and maintaining livestock waters (solar and mono pumps), fencing, roads, compound gardens plus general station infrastructure projects and maintenance requirements.

About you:

  • This position would suit a candidate who is ready to take the next step in a senior management role on a cattle station.

  • A proactive, positive and energetic attitude with a hands on approach who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty.

  • Due to the expansive landscape, you will enjoy working autonomously but you must be a good communicator who is proactive in ensuring the General Manager is kept up to date on TGS progress and any issues on the stations.
