National Feed Co. manufactures a range of premium livestock feeds available as cubes, pellets, mash or concentrate to service the Northern cattle industry.

We are currently looking to hire the following positions at our stockfeed manufacturing plant in Katherine, NT:

GRINDER OPERATOR | Katherine, NT

Job Description: The Operator will set up & operate the stockfeed milling machinery:

Job Type: Full time job after probation period of 3 months

Duties & Criteria include:

  • Must be reliable with a can-do attitude

  • Must be able to pass regular drug & alcohol tests

  • Responsible to follow company rules and policies 

  • Knowledge of machine tools; including their designs, uses, and maintenance

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment 

  • Knowledge of basic math skills 

  • Knowledge of raw materials and quality control 

  • Forklift & Loader ticket preferred but not essential

  • Ability to lift, slide and carry up to 50kg 

  • Able to work on ladders 

  • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, gases, inclement weather

MILL OPERATOR | Katherine, NT

Job Description: The Operator will set up & operate the stockfeed milling machinery and equipment

Job Type: Full time job after probation period of 3 months

Duties & Criteria include:

  • Only seeking a serious reliable long term employee with a can-do attitude

  • Must be able to pass regular drug & alcohol tests

  • Willing to learn all aspects of mill operation

  • Must be Computer Literate

  • Responsible to follow company rules and policies 

  • Knowledge of machine tools; including their designs, uses, and maintenance

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment 

  • Knowledge of basic math skills 

  • Knowledge of raw materials and quality control

BAGGER | Katherine, NT

Job Description: The Bagger Operator is responsible to set-up, operate, monitor, and maintain the bagging machinery and equipment, and bagging process  

Job Type: Casual Role

Duties & Criteria include:

  • Must be able to pass regular drug & alcohol tests

  • Possess mechanical aptitude and ability to operate robotic packing line

  • Detail-oriented and enjoy working in a fast paced environment 

  • Must be able to read and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals 

  • Knowledge of basic mathematical skills 

  • Forklift & Loader ticket preferred but not essential

  • Exposure to noise, dust, fumes, gases, inclement weather

  • Ability to lift, slide and carry up to 50kg 

  • Ability to stand for an extended period of time 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT / ALL ROUND | Katherine, NT

Job Description: This production feed mill industry position would suite a candidate with a can do attitude, who is self-motivated and has an eye for detail, be well organized and possess the willingness to learn.  A self-starter who can use their own initiative and who can work unsupervised would suite this role

  • Casual to permanent basis | 30-38hrs per week (flexi)

  • Must be computer literate

  • Previous administration duties would be an advantage

  • Own transport essential

  • Forklift ticket a must (assistance outside of the office with loading / unloading)
