Due to the expansion and diversification of the existing business, Sawers Farms have created a new position with the aim of  breeding and finishing lambs. The system will utilise a combination of dryland grazing country, winter and summer crop stubbles, irrigated dual purpose crops, irrigated lucerne and containment feeding when necessary. A 4,000 head lamb feedlot with Feedtech auto feeders provides the ultimate finishing option.

Job Description/ Summary:

This is a full-time, ongoing position. With the livestock enterprise still in its infancy, this is a genuine opportunity for someone to learn the business and have an input into the future operation. You will support all aspects of sheep production, including:

  • Planning and execution of key animal husbandry tasks

  • Supporting the development and implementation of a breeding program

  • Supporting the management of grazing operations and feedlotting activities

To be considered for this position you MUST have:

  • The successful candidate for this role will have: 

  • Previous sheep production experience

  • Desire to continue to learn and push into new areas

  • Confidence to manage your own time and work unsupervised

  • Exceptional attention to detail
