AMUNGEE MUNGEE STATION, NT

Amungee Station is currently accepting applications to join their diverse and exciting team for the 2020 season as a Welder.

The station is situated about 132 kilometres north east of Elliott and 240 kilometres south west of Borroloola in the north of the Northern Territory.

START DATE: Immediate

JOB DESCRIPTION:  The applicant must have relevant experience and must be capable of performing the following primary welding duties:

  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements;

  • Perform MIG, TIG and other types of weld based on project needs;

  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements);

  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded;

  • Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces;

  • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps;

  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws;

  • Ensure clean weld joint to obtain smooth look;

  • Physically capable to work with heavy equipment and machinery;

  • Good communication and interpersonal relation skills to perform all duties and negotiate positive outcomes with company owner, other staff members, suppliers and clients;

  • Comply with workplace health and safety policies;

  • Wear provided Person Protective Equipment whilst in the workshop area or as otherwise directed.
