Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Station Cook for Maryfield Station. You will be cooking for 20 people.
Maryfield Station is located just off the Stuart Highway with all weather, year round access, only a short drive from Daly Waters and with Katherine a few hours away to the north. Maryfield Station is located on 147,300 hectares and has 24,000 head of Brahman cattle. The station has flat terrain and rich soil conditions and boasts robust, drought resilient grasses and legumes.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
Cooking for 20-30 people.
Planning menus, organising and ordering supplies.
Preparing tasty and nutritious meals for staff, as well as visitors to the homestead.
Maintaining cleaning and hygiene standards equivalent to that of a commercial kitchen.
Job Requirements:
Experience cooking/catering for large groups of people.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Understanding of health and safety standards and food hygiene standards.
Ability to prepare meals in adherence with set budget.
Previous experience working on a cattle station or in a remote environment an advantage.
