Job Description:
With a new 5 year growth plan established by a dedicated and astute family management team, they have identified a need for an experienced and detail-driven Assistant Manager to join the operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role will support the day-to-day management of the property, livestock, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will join up with the Working Farm Manager to deliver high standards across animal husbandry, animal health, pasture utilisation, general property maintenance and capital improvements.
Joining over 2,000 head of cattle each year the operations previously focused on traditional commercial premium beef production. Now ‘Going for Growth’ under new family management they will inject new life into the property and add new livestock enterprises and implement an extensive infrastructure, pasture and beef herd growth plan over the next 5 years.
With a well-established combination of scale, productivity, and quality-focused systems, the operation will build on a reputation for operational excellence and innovation within the beef industry.
You will have experience in or want to be involved in using data and driving genetic potential of a commercial herd by the use of AI, ET, recip programs and Ag-tech.
You will see yourself as self-driven to push the boundaries of production and achieve optimal industry results and be seen a leader in the field.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Hands-on management of animal husbandry and livestock operations.
Managing stock water, pasture improvement
Operating farm machinery, including tasks related to paddock preparation, planting, spreading and chemical application.
High attention to detail to livestock operations and record keeping.
Using of farm software systems (e.g. AgriWebb, NLIS).
Education / Experience / Skills
Previous management experience in a cattle enterprise (essential).
Experience with pasture management and fodder crops.
Mechanical aptitude and general maintenance skills (machinery, fencing, water systems)
Ability to work unsupervised and show initiative.
Enthusiastic and positive attitude and effective communicator.
Licences: Drivers (essential), HR (desirable), Chemcert (essential).
A genuine interest in improving animal welfare outcomes, pasture productivity, and operational efficiency is critical.
Job Requirements:
Passion for industry best practice in cattle husbandry & animal health
Experience with cropping & irrigation (desirable)
Mechanically minded (preferred but onsite training available)
Manual Driver’s license (essential)
An independent, self-directed person who can make management decisions at times with high observation skills
