Bindaree Beef Group's Myola Feedlot is a modern 20,000 SCU (Standard Cattle Unit) capacity feedlot situated in the heart of the “Golden Triangle” in northwest NSW and is 70km from Goondiwindi, 60km from Moree and 50km from Warialda. Job Description:

Do you have previous cattle handling experience and are a knowledgeable, skilled horse person? We are looking for a Pen Rider to join the team.


The Pen Rider is essential to everyday cattle movements, treatment and care including administering and maintaining animal health treatments and relevant records. A minimum of 2 horses required for this position with suitable tack.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the animals are managed and handled in a humane manner and using appropriate cattle handling techniques.

  • Following animal welfare, quality, and safety standards as well as operating procedures and work instructions.

  • Counting and recording animal individual identification and lot numbers where required, and all moves that are performed during the day.

  • Ensuring all daily tasks are completed.

  • Every day pens are to be ridden in a consistent and thorough manner.

  • Applying the required treatment to cattle and recording information.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent livestock handling skills.

  • Supply at least 2 horses suitable for the job with own tack.

  • Ability to diagnose animal health symptoms and treat with the appropriate protocols.

  • Horsemanship skills including its proper care and wellbeing.

  • You have excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Show initiative and willingness to learn.
