Central Stockcare is a vertically integrated producer and supplier of beef to domestic and international markets. We have an opportunity for a motivated, reliable, and dedicated couple to join our team as a farm and feedlot overseers at our Midwest Backgrounding / farming / feedlot operation, which is located 50kms north-west of Moora, WA.

We are a major supplier of cattle for the Grain Fed Domestic Market, the Live Export trade, and operates a cattle buying / handling business in Western Australia.

Job Description:

Ideally suited to a young couple in a shared role, you will be required to support the Livestock, Feeding and Operations teams in all aspects of the day-to-day running and management of the farm, homestead and associated feedlot.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Record keeping

  • Receival of feed commodities.

  • Ensuring clean water troughs are always maintained.

  • Assisting in the receival and induction procedure of livestock for designated feeding programs.

  • Unloading, loading, scanning, drafting and weighing of livestock. All aspects of livestock husbandry and welfare including handling and veterinary treatments.

  • Welfare checks for the identification and diagnosis of illnesses with efficient communication to the Farm Manager.

  • Feed mixing & delivery.

  • Cleaning bunks.

  • General farming duties, with modern machinery, loader, telehandler, modern feed mixer and mill.

  • Assistance with Improved Pasture program using modern Airseeder.

  • Repairs & Maintenance as required.

  • Ensure that livestock handling facilities and homestead are kept in a clean and tidy state.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in an intensive livestock handling operation preferred.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Manual C class license minimum.

  • Machinery experience preferred but not essential.

  • Available to work rostered weekends with flexibility with working hours during busy periods.

  • A demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a small team environment.

  • Initiative, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
