Job Description:

Hancock Agriculture has a full-time position available for a Farm Hand to join our operations at Buena Vista situated in Upper Manilla, NSW.


Nestled in the beautiful landscape of New England, NSW, Buena Vista spans approximately 1918 hectares and is situated in close proximity to both Manilla and Tamworth. This property boasts a stunning creek running through it and is home to up to 6000 cattle. Buena Vista plays a pivotal role in supporting Hancock Agriculture's other backgrounding properties with a dedicated focus on infrastructure, animal welfare, and growing fodder for 2GR Wagyu cattle.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Farm Hand for our irrigated farming operation in the Tamworth region of NSW. This role is for someone who enjoys working with a broad scope and variety of work, ranging from operation and maintenance of various farm equipment, irrigation and dryland cropping to handling and monitoring of livestock.

  • You will work closely with our cattle, performing a variety of tasks including mustering, processing, and monitoring their health. With a dedication to animal welfare and quality assurance to contribute to their overall well-being, following our motto “Happy healthy cattle are the best cattle”

  • From ploughing and planting to harvesting hay, silage, and grain, you'll be involved in the day-to-day operations of crop and fodder production.

  • You'll be responsible for operating and maintaining tractors, front-end loaders, and other farm machinery, ensuring they're in good working order.

  • You will contribute to sustainable land management practices on our farm. From weed and pest control to erosion prevention and drought preparedness, you'll play a vital role in preserving our natural environment.

  • Showcase your practical skills by assisting with general maintenance and repairs around the farm. From fixing fences to maintaining water supply equipment, your handy skills will help keep our farm running smoothly.

  • You will have a passion and drive for the Agriculture industry and want to be a part of seeing Buena Vista reach its full potential.

Job Requirements:

  • Proven competency and previous experience in similar roles is essential for this position

  • Safety is a top priority for you, and you understand the importance of following safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment.

  • You have a demonstrated passion for cattle, farming and an enthusiasm to learn more.

  • You thrive in a collaborative setting and enjoy working alongside others. Your strong communication skills and willingness to contribute make you a valuable team member.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

  • Driver’s licence class C.
