Job Description:

MDH PTY LTD are recruiting for experienced Pen Rider/Livestock General Hands. These roles are long term with a 10/4 roster.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • You will assist with the day-to-day operations of the feedlot, including general cattle handling, drafting, cutting out, pen riding, trucking and moving cattle within the feedlot, diagnosing animal health with an emphasis on animal welfare, administration of the animal health treatments, and maintaining accurate daily records, such as data entry. 

  • You will also be required to muster backgrounding paddocks.

Job Requirements:

  • Experienced Pen Riders must have proven horsemanship skills.

  • Previous feedlot experience is preferred.

  • A strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition.

  • Your own transport and driver’s licence.

  • You can safely complete all tasks required.

  • You are Q-Fever vaccinated or willing to be.

Essential requirements:

  • TWO horses and required tack / gear

  • Competent horsemanship and riding skills

  • Excellent cattle handling skills

  • Strong communication skills and ability to foster a team environment

  • Availability to work 10 days on, four days off roster.
