Job Description:

We are currently hiring a Senior Milling Operator at Grassdale, which employs 110 team members and is licensed for 70,000 SCUs, making it the largest feedlot in Australia.

Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

Our feedmill team is based on site to produce quality steam flaked grains for livestock rations.


This key role will be responsible for:

  • Contribute to the successful running of the steam flake mills to produce high quality flaked grain for our feedlot rations.

  • Operation of package boiler including startup, shutdown and operational sampling requirements

  • General repairs and maintenance to milling infrastructure (Greasing, hanger bearing, belt tracking and minor maintenance repairs)

  • Ensuring that department hygiene and general cleanliness is held to a high standard

  • Operation of Reverse Osmosis plant and water treatment

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a stockfeed/mill environment essential

  • You demonstrate experience in feed production, milling position or feed batching (or similar)

  • You’re mechanically minded with the ability to problem solve on the fly

  • Ideally, you have experience with modern feeding machinery, equipment, loaders, trucks and other heavy equipment

  • Proactive approach and positive attitude
