Job Description:
We are looking for a Station Hand to assist with cattle and farming operations at Oakland Park Station in Croydon, Qld.
The role will initially be for a fixed term until the end of September, with the possibility for an extension if the wet season has not commenced and work can continue.
Key Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Station Manager, you will be responsible for:
Cattle management, including mustering and conducting animal husbandry tasks, ensuring it is done precisely and safely.
Farming and pasture programs, ensuring it is done precisely and safely.
General farm duties including feeding, lick runs, checking water, fencing, operating machinery, and general farm maintenance.
Property development programs related to farm infrastructure, pastures, and cultivation.
Assist management to achieve production objectives.
Job Requirements:
You will hold a C class drivers’ licence (essential).
You will be physically fit.
You will be keen to learn any livestock handling skills or have experienced working on a farm (preferred).
You will have good communication skills.
You will be able to work independently and as part of a team.
You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with potential for Saturday work).
