STATION HAND

Dry River Station is a 65,000-hectare working cattle property located 120km from Katherine in the Northern Territory and is part of the Paspaley Groups strong portfolio of national agricultural interests. The Station runs approximately 5000 Brahman breeding cows producing progeny for finishing at the Group’s flood plain properties along the Mary River near Darwin.

Job Description: 

Seeking a station hand to assist our Manager on the station. This is an exciting position with a progressive company and would suit a station hand who is looking to further their career and enhance their skills in cattle and cropping operations.

Key Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mustering is done using 2 wheel motorbikes and  Quads, mustering is done in conjunction with mustering contractor/ helicopters.

• Maintenance and care of all farm equipment, vehicles, bikes and water infrastructure, bores and pumps.  

• Fencing, yard work, welding, salt lick and bore runs. 

• New and exciting opportunity to become part of a cattle and broad acre farming operation.

• Pro-active, positive , and a can do attitude.  

• An ability to work independently, also in a team and from time to time with contractors.

• Experience operating farm machinery and earth moving equipment (can train).

Essential Criteria:

• Some knowledge and understanding of beef cattle production and cropping. 

• More importantly the opportunity requires the right attitude and work ethic to work with an exciting agricultural company to further develop your skill set and further your career.   

• Must be committed to always providing a safe workplace.

• An unrestricted driver’s license – current at all times.

• Australian citizenship or be a permanent resident.
