NOW HIRING SEASON 2022 | VARIOUS POSITIONS | Cattle Stations, Farming & Feedlots | Some locations are more remote than others and include Mt Isa, Central Qld, Darling Downs, Roma district, Charleville and Augathella regions. With 13 properties (breeding, backgrounding & farming) along with 3 feedlots, there'll be a range of full-time permanent opportunities including:

  • Station Hands and Maintenance Hands (Breeding & Backgrounding properties)

  • Head Stockpersons

  • Station Cooks

  • Governess/Govenor roles

  • Boreperson / Bore Runners

  • Road Train Drivers

  • Plant Operators (Grader/Loader)

  • Mechanics

  • Farm hands (cropping)

OPERATIONS MANAGER | CHARLEVILLE, QLD | As part of our Wellclose Property Group, the Operations Manager will be based out of the newly purchased Amaroo Homestead, 110km Southwest of Blackall. This role will have a leading part to play in the development of our small stock goat enterprise, as well as the co-ordination of day-to-day operations within this business unit, including communication with reporting staff and will report directly to the Senior Manager (based at Wellclose Homestead).

As the Operations Manager, you will be expected to have the following attributes;

  • Extensive knowledge of best practice stock handling and husbandry.

  • Ability to support the implementation of numerous large scale property development projects

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to train & mentor staff

  • Proactive safety management skills

FEEDLOT OPPORTUNITIES | VARIOUS QLD LOCATIONS | Various positions have become available across our feedlot operations throughout Queensland. With varying rosters of 10 on 4 off or Monday to Friday. In our livestock crews horse riding experience and cattle handling experience is highly regarded. In our Feedmill Operations we are looking for individuals who are confident in operating machinery safely and accurately. There is a role for everyone this is a great opportunity for graduates and experienced alike. Positions include:

  • Livestock Hands

  • Feedmill Operators

  • Administration Officers

  • Maintenance Hands

  • General Hand / Handyperson

  • Farm Hand

  • Graduate / Trainee

STATION HANDS, ADMIN & MACHINERY OPERATOR | BABBILOORA STATION, QLD 

Babbiloora Station is a 250,000 hectare property aggregation located 110km north-east of Augathella in the foothills of the Carnarvon Ranges.  Operating as a mixed breeding and backgrounding property.

  • Strong work ethic and commitment to doing a quality job that is routine and consistent

  • Valid manual driver's licence

  • Truck licences highly regarded

  • Some Mechanical aptitude highly regarded

STATION COOKS | VARIOUS STATIONS, QLD | Our station cooks are the most important role at our stations, good food brings our little community together and is the hub of the station. Depending on size you may have an offsider who assists at times in preparing and baking throughout the busy periods. So if you are someone who enjoys the appreciation that comes from full bellies this role is 100% for you.

Food and accommodation is included with a variety of single and couple accommodation available again depending on the Station.

You will be required to

  • Work flexibly to accommodate meal times, meaning being highly organized is key

  • experience or ability to plan meals in advance

  • Ordering of kitchen consumable and ingredients in conjunction with the Manager.

  • Enjoy shaking things up with overnight cook ups, fire pits, BBQs or spit roasts or even the odd wood fire pizza

Outside of this your time in your own you may be an avid gardener, enjoy animal husbandry or love of a bit of hiking, fishing camping or photography and we can vouch that we have some of the best sunsets in the world right here in our back yard.
